K Kare Inc. was founded by Karen Shepherd, a licensed para medical esthetician. Though her background included owning skin care clinics, theatrical make-up and intense color therapy training, Karen used her skills to create her own skin care, handcrafted soaps and candle line.

Karen has lectured for many collages and women's groups on Skin Care Techniques and Color Therapy, (How the colors around you effect your enviroment).

Karen implemented all of her color knowledge and personal techniques to achieve her unique designer candle and soap collections.

As with her skin care line every candle is produced using the highest quality ingredients available. From the proper burning lead free cotton wicks, our blend of soy paraffin wax, to the specialized custom fragrances and oils made exclusively for K Kare. We guarantee quality and performance throughout the entire candle.

Karen takes great pride in creating new and exciting candles for all occassions. As you will see in our Bakery, Home Decor, Breast Cancer Awarness, Christmas, Easter, Valentines, Angels, Two Tones, Chantel's Gems and so much more! Her imagination is never ending.

Karen has a great love for animals. We at K Kare our proud members of the ASPCA. Every animal related item in our K Kare Gift Store as well as Website, 30% of the proceeds go to help keep animals alive!

A letter from the founder: Karen Shepherd

It's amazing to me looking back at how something so difficult could have created so much good. I'm always asked why I went from owning very successful skin care clinics and my own skin care line, ( Sold in stores as well as on television), to making candles. The truth is, I became ill and between numerous major surgeries, I was unable to continue.

I had already begun making Vitamin C Soaps for my skin care line and was asked by many companies if I had candles. I looked into other candle companies to private label my own brand and could'nt believe the lack of quality in the industry. I then started to research and teach myself in my basement. It took about a year to complete my first line, with that I went straight to Mom and Pop Shops. The candle line did so well I then closed Hallmark accounts as well as Knott's Berry Farm. The rest is history. People ask me all the time. You used to do so well with your Skin Care Clinic's, why don't you go back to skin care? My answer, I love making candles. I'm as proud as someone that just knitted a blanket for the past three months. I've learned through being ill that happiness is worth much more than physical money. I know it sounds corny, but it's true.

My lesson to myself and my company is: Never assume the worst in any situation. Something good could be right around the corner, if you just be patient and open to all possibilities.
